Ed started his musical career early with piano lessons at the age of 6. In the 4th grade he started studying the trumpet which he continued studying through college. At the age of 14 he gravitated to the guitar
After graduating from Cedar Cliff H.S., Ed attended Mansfield University where he studied music as a guitar major. While attending College he was an active member of a number of ensembles including the Orchestra, (upright Bass), Pit Orchestra (guitar, trumpet), and several concert and wind ensembles (trumpet) including Jazz Band (Guitar). In addition he was a paid member of a number of pit orchestras at other colleges including Ithaca. And worked as a member of the rock group Excalibur, that performed around Mansfield and New York state as well as a performance at RFK stadium in Washington DC.
After graduation from Mansfield Ed moved to Allentown PA where he began performing with a number of local rock and blues ensembles. He continued his musical education studying with Jazz great Jimmy Bruno. And worked with the Ed McCartan Trio and Relatively Speaking at numerous Jazz festivals and private events. In addition he has performed with Patti Austin and with Philadelphia great Gerald Veasley.
Currently Ed is working with the Rock Band wicked Alibi in the Tristate area. Over the past decade he has also performed with the Classic Rock Band Alias, Funk band Lucky 7 Band and with rock duos The Rum Runnerz (Grateful Dead) Street Box Strummer and the AcoustiKatz.
